Landmark College is committed to supporting and maintaining a campus environment that is safe and secure for all students, 工作人员, 教师, 和游客. The Landmark College 关注学生 & 威胁评估小组 seeks to address student 行为 of high concern of violence, 潜在的暴力, or other 威胁 to the health and safety of any member of the Landmark College community. The Team seeks to mitigate potential risks before they result in harm.
Activities and actions of the team may include:
- Collecting information about observed 行为s regarding acts of violence, 关注行为, or statements and/or potential 威胁s posed by individual(s)
- 发展中, 实现, and monitoring intervention strategies and management plans that are designed to respond appropriately to the statements, 行为, and/or circumstances that generate the initial concern, 威胁, 或者感知到的威胁. The team may also monitor reported 行为s that are already being managed by other College systems.
- 发展中 and 实现 reporting protocols and communications to encourage reports from the College community
- Remaining informed and trained of best practices of 威胁 assessment and management

- To provide a central clearinghouse for observations, 问题, or concerns about a distressed or distressing student
- To investigate concerns and develop appropriate responses and/or interventions to support students referred to the committee

Identifying Concerning Behavior
There are many 行为s that may cause concern for the safety and well-being of an individual or the campus as a whole. The following is not an exhaustive list but provides examples of concerning 行为s or situations:
- Unusual or abrupt changes in 行为s or patterns
- Extreme reaction to a loss or traumatic event
- Preoccupation with weapons, violent events, or persons who have engaged in violent acts
- Uncharacteristically poor performance
- References to harming others or planning a violent or destructive event
- Evidence of depression, hopelessness, or suicidal thoughts/plans
- Inappropriate responses such as prolonged irritability, angry outbursts, or intense reactions
- Strained interpersonal relations, isolating 行为s, or low self-esteem
- Significant change in life circumstances such as loss of job or relationship
报告威胁
If you believe that an individual on campus has committed or may commit an act of violence, is engaging in 行为 or making statements that raise concern about the potential for violence, or otherwise poses a 威胁 to the health or safety of any member of the Landmark College community, make a report to the Vice President for Student Affairs, 教务长, or Director of Counseling Services. In the event of an imminent or unfolding emergency, dial 911 immediately.
